Cwmcarvan is in Monmouthshire, at the southern extent of the
Marches on the borders of Wales and England, midway between Monmouth (6
Miles), and Raglan. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
"AONB" and in very special country. See maps below.
Monmouth is an attractive town; well provided with a Waitrose, Marks &
Spencer Simply Food, Co-op, Lidl, Pizza Express and plenty of
charm and history. Apart from the brands listed, most of
the other shopping is privately owned with lots to browse and
savour.
The location is ideal to reach the Rivers Severn,
Wye and Usk, the Forest of Dean, the Black Mountains
and the Brecon Beacons. This is one of the finest inland landscapes in Britain.
Also in easy reach - Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool,
Ross-on-Wye, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford
Travel times - London (2
1/2 hours), 30 minutes from Bristol over the old Severn Bridge,
and just over an hour from
Birmingham. See maps and GPS co-ordinates below.
The location of the farm itself is enchanting and loved by
our guests, sitting in a large amphitheatre of woodland and
pasture.
The pond and its wildlife is a joy, and a barbeque alongside
in the evening is a special treat., A number of
paths spread from the property, and access over the grazing and
woodland is totally secure for children and pets.
Cwmcarvan and its church make a wonderful destination for a
walk.
